How It Began
Driven by passionate interests for the outdoors, the environment and humorous life experiences, Off The Dock Toons was a natural avenue for Professional Cartoonist Maureen Shelleau to showcase her entertaining talents.
A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Maureen enjoyed life growing up on Lake Superior and the surrounding lakes and rivers of her hometown while developing her artistic passions. Her love of the outdoors, nature and animals and promotion of conservation is the inspiration behind her paintings, illustrations and cartoon caricatures. After acquiring three Arts Degrees Maureen followed her creative spirit and persued her career in the Feature Film and Television Animation Industry, further developing her love for cartoons and comedy.
Captured by the entrepreneurial dream, and a passion for the outdoors, a fishing comic strip was created and "Off The Dock Toons" was born.
Where "Off The Dock" is Today
Now approaching it's third year in production, the monthy toon series is under sole ownership of Off The Dock Entertainment Inc.
More than just a monthly comic strip panel, Off The Dock has become the focus of a potential animated television and web series. A pitch on CBC's The Dragon's Den was well received and highly entertaining to the Dragons. Since the filming, Off The Dock Entertainment has been working on an animated promo to be posted on You Tube early in 2012 as well as a Collector's and Story Book Series. Off The Dock Apparel is now available in fishing and tackle stores across Canada as and through the online store.
The line is being expanded for 2012 with new designs now available on hoodies, long sleeved, and ladies shirts!
Look for Off The Dock in prestigious fishing publications and online fishing forums across North America and at Fishing and Outdoor Shows in Canada and the US in the months to come!
Thanks to all fans, friends and families for your continued support!
